I have learned so many useful ideas and concepts throughout this semester that I know will help me a lot both in life and in the workplace. After taking this course I feel a lot more confident about beginning to enter the work force after I graduate with a masters degree. I have learned things such as the importance of a cover letter, active listening, and how to dress for a interview. Before this class I barely knew how important most of these things really were. Another important thing I learned was how to correctly address the audience that I am reaching out to. I have learned how and how not to act in a workplace and I even learned to not let myself be walked all over by my peers during work. All in all, I have learned many important business and life lessons through this class that I will carry on with me way past graduation. Having Ms. D as a teacher has made the learning experience a lot easier and she has welcomed all types of question and answered without any hesitation.

What I Learned
I have learned so many useful ideas and concepts throughout this semester that I know will help me a lot both in life and in the workplace. Hilton Head, S.C.
Do you desperately need a vacation?
Look no further, I have the perfect vacation for you. Why not spend a week or two on the beautiful Hilton Head Island, right off the coast of South Carolina. Before I was even born my family has been traveling down to Hilton Head every year. The area is extremely beautiful, especially around the summertime. It barely ever rains on the island and if it does the rain only lasts ten to fifteen minutes so you are guaranteed a vacation filled with clear and sunny skies. There are countless things you can do on the island ranging from shopping, eating, zip lining, swimming, or just lounging on the beach. Most of the houses throughout the island are either right on the beach or fifteen minute walk to the beach so the ocean is never far. The beaches on the island are very clean and are definitely family oriented. The island is not very big but you will definitely not run out of activities to do while on vacation. Some of my favorite activities that I have experienced on the island include zip lining, jet skiing, dolphin cruises, and even a boat ride that takes you to historic Savannah, Georgia for the day. Even Terry Pegula docks his yacht in Sea Pines, a part of Hilton Head, so the island is definitely a welcoming place for Buffalonians. Hilton Head offers endless amounts of fun and relaxation for everyone who visits so the sooner you book your vacation to the island the better.
My Dream Job
If I could wake up one day and just have any job I wanted I would love to work in Public Relations for a sports team. I have always wanted to working in the athletic field and since I won't be going pro for sports anytime soon I would love to work in the field. Public relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and the public. I have always loved to be around people, even from a young age, and combining that with my love of sports I think I would do really well in public relations. Ideally, I would love to work for a major league baseball team such as the Toronto Blue Jays or the New York Yankees. I have been to numerous baseball games growing up and I love the atmospheres in a baseball stadium that I could easily see myself working in one and helping the people there. I enjoy building relationships with new people and I think having a public relations job would easily open up so many doors for myself and by meeting new people the opportunities are endless on what I could accomplish.

What Motivates You
Motivation comes to me in many forms be it from my family and friends,
school, work, art, or music. Making the transition from a regimented
high school student to an independent college student has definitely
presented challenges along the way for me. For the past 4 years I have
worked at a pizzeria near my house and I often vent to one of the
supervisors about my school work and schedule. He has explained to me on
many occasions in several different ways that learning sacrifice and
hard work now will prepare me for the roads ahead. If I'm not willing to
invest in my future, the harder I will have to work throughout life
just to keep up. This motivates me to preserve and buckle down when I
feel like goofing off or giving up when times get tough.
